A soft, white, mould-ripened cheese in a traditional ‘Camembert’ shape, available as a minimum weight 240g individual cheese or as approximately 1kg cutting cheese.
A must on any cheese board, Cranborne is also delicious studded with garlic, baked whole in the oven and shared with some wonderful artisan crusty bread.
Made using unpasteurised cow’s milk and traditional animal rennet, this cheese has a wonderful creamy texture inside when ripe, that does not tend to run. The thin white rind has a wonderful ‘mushroomy’ aroma. As the Cranborne matures the pristine white rind becomes darker and can take on spots of other coloured moulds. This only adds to the ‘pungancy’ giving it the ‘lived in’ look of so many of the famous French cheeses.
