Terms and Conditions

 

Order and process:

After your order has been placed we will reserve your cheese and then check your card details and address and take payment from your card.

 

Goods are subject to availability, if for any reason we are unable to supply your cheese we will contact you as soon as possible to offer an alternative. If the alternative offered isn’t suitable, a full refund will be given if the products have already been paid for.

 

We recommend that you provide us with a correct email address. After the order has been placed we will send you an email confirming your order. you will receive a further email on dispatch.

 

Unless we notify you that we can not accept your order then you will have entered into a contract with us regardless of whether we have taken payment or sent an acknowledgment email.

 

 

Pricing:

Products are invoiced in GBP sterling. Your order will not be inclusive of delivery fees unless stated otherwise.

 

All prices displayed on the Chalke Valley Website include Value Added Tax (VAT), charged at the current rate when applicable.

 

We reserve the right to update the prices on the Chalke Valley Cheese website at any time.

 

 

Payment:

You can pay for the items you are ordering online using most major UK credit or debit cards using the secure online checkout.

 

When you place order online, our secure payment gateway Sage Pay will automatically ask your card issuer for authorization. Once we get a valid authorization your card issuer will hold this value expecting a charge from us. Chalke Valley Cheese products are charged at the time of order. Our products will appear as “Chalke Valley Cheese” on your bank statements.

 

 

Authentication:

We currently use cardholder authentication. If you are a member of a cardholder authentication scheme we will be able to use authentication feature to identify you as a genuine cardholder before you pay for your online order.

 

Our payment systems support MasterCard secure code and verified by visa authentication schemes so that we are able to check if customers are genuine Mastercard or Visa cardholders. Our authentication feature enables customers to enter a password to confirm your identity with the card issuer.

 

 

Delivery times:

We aim to dispatch all orders on either a Monday or a Thursday, this means that the longest you should wait for your order to be dispatched is four days.

 

You will be notified by email when your order is dispatched and it should arrive the next day.

 

Our delivery times are for guidance for the customer and we cannot guarantee the delivery time. We cannot take responsibility for the delivery time once the order has been dispatched.

 

If your order is a gift please inform us in the “delivery notes” box during the checkout stage and please state the day that you would like us to dispatch the

Order on.

 

Delivery is sent overnight from us on a guaranteed next day delivery. In most cases a signature is not required to acknowledge delivery. To provide the best chance of your cheese arriving with you as quickly as possible please provide a suitable place to leave your order such as a front porch or with a neighbour (this must be in the same street or the immediate vicinity)

 

 

Cancellation:

If you wish to cancel your order please email our team on sales@chalkevalleycheese.co.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If we receive enough notice we will stop your order being dispatched, if it is too late and your order is dispatched, you may return the item in line with our returns policy.

 

 

Returns and refunds:

Returns are only accepted if the goods are damaged. You must inform us within 24 hours from receipt by email. We may request that you return the item(s) to us in original outer undamaged packaging. If the item has not been returned to us in the original condition we reserve the right to refuse a refund. All returned items must be accompanied with the delivery slip that came with the order.

 

In the case of damaged or faulty goods a receipt for the return postage should be included within the package for the cost to be refunded.

None of the above terms affect your statutory rights if goods are damaged or incorrectly supplied nor does it affect your rights under the consumer protection regulations.

 

 

General:

Our cheeses are all hand made using artisan methods and therefore the measurements and weights are approximate.

 

If a cheese that has been ordered is unavailable we will try and contact you to organize another similar cheese to take its place otherwise if payment has been taken we will authorize a refund.

 

You may use the Chalke Valley Cheese website and its content for any personal, non commercial use. You may not use the website for commercial use without prior written permission of the directors of Chalke Valley Cheese.

 

The Chalke Valley Cheese website and all of its contents and software is our property and is protected with copyright, trade marks, database rights and other intellectual property rights.

 

We cannot confirm that the material contained in the Chalke Valley Cheese website will operate without interruptions or delays or will be free of defects viruses or bugs compatible with any other software or material. Accessing the Chalke Valley Cheese website is entirely at your own risk.

 

We will not be responsible to you or any third party for any business loss (including loss of revenue, profits, contracts, anticipated savings, wasted expenditure, data or goodwill) or any other loss or damage which does not result directly from our actions or the actions of our sub-contractors or suppliers, is consequential or was not reasonably foreseeable to both you and us when the contract between us was formed.

 

We reserve the right at any time to make changes to this website, these terms and conditions, our Security and Privacy Policy and such other policies as we may notify you of.

 

You will be subject to our policies and terms and conditions in force at the time you use the Chalke Valley Cheese website or order items from the Chalke Valley Cheese website. Changes, which we are required to make by law, could apply to orders that have already been made.

 

You agree fully to indemnify, defend and hold us, and our officers, directors, employees, agents and suppliers, harmless immediately on demand, from and against all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of any breach of these terms and conditions by you or any other liabilities arising out of your use of the Chalke Valley Cheese website, or the use by any other person accessing the Chalke Valley Cheese website using your shopping account and/or your personal information.
